It's time to lace up for the largest running event in the world
Calling all runners, walkers and rollers! Be part of a fun-filled global event and raise money for spinal cord research: Wings for Life World Run 2024 is on. It’s time to lace up your running shoes.
Have you ever dreamt of being part of a truly global initiative? Your chance is here. Get ready to feel the rush of adrenaline as registration opens for the 11th edition of the Wings for Life World Run. Imagine running simultaneously with hundreds of thousands of people from every corner of the globe on Sunday, May 5, 2024, all striving towards one goal – finding a cure for spinal cord injury.
This race also has a unique twist. It has no traditional finish line. Instead, a Catcher Car chases you, elevating the thrill of the race and keeping you on your toes. But don’t worry, you get a 30-minute head start!
“I’m so excited that registration is opening for 2024! In the previous edition of the Wings for Life World Run we had a record number of participants, and our goal is to see even more people on the starting line next May,” says Colin Jackson, the British hurdling legend who is the event’s International Sports Director. “We’re thrilled that this is the largest running event in the world, and we’re extremely proud of our participants, because each new registration brings real hope to everyone affected by spinal cord injury.”
The Wings for Life World Run is all about accessibility and inclusivity. With 40-plus locations already open for registration – and many more to come – the event gives you the flexibility to choose how and where you take part. Use the Wings for Life World Run App to join the race virtually in an App Run Event with local running communities across the globe or set your own course.
And this year, Flagship Runs in Austria, Croatia, Germany, Poland, Slovenia, Switzerland and – new this year – the Netherlands will have a real-life Catcher Cars Watch out for some celebrity drivers at the wheel.
There's even more to look forward to! In a first for the event and as part of a new partnership with leading sports brand adidas, everyone who registers – no matter where or how they choose to run – will receive the official Wings for Life World Run t-shirt to help them get ready to race. The special commemorative design from adidas will let everyone know the wearer is running for those who can’t.
Since it started in 2014, the Wings for Life World Run has been making waves. It has raised over €43.8 million and its 1,293,716 participants have covered 11,839,989 kilometers in 195 countries across all seven continents. The 2024 edition aims to break 2023’s record of 206,728 participants and make an even bigger impact.
Remember, 100% of your entry fee goes towards spinal cord research. So, why wait? Join the Wings for Life World Run 2024 and become part of an incredible global movement that is changing lives and will find a cure for spinal cord injury. Let’s run the world, together!
