Luat Nguyen has been the Managing Director at Cicor Vietnam since June 2022. Before he led InnovationLab GmbH, a unique research and development
platform designed to foster cross-disciplinary research and innovation bringing together researchers and
industrialists – from Lab-2-Fab. Because of this continuous knowledge transfer, he draws on an extensive
understanding of the entire spectrum of printed and organic electronics.
Fleeing from Vietnam on a small fishing boat at the age of 14, Luat Nguyen came to Germany where he
started two degree programs in construction and industrial engineering at the Technical University of
Darmstadt, specializing in civil engineering.
He draws on more than 17 year of professional experience in executive positions, including the
successful foundation of his start-up company, and successfully taking over and restructuring a
traditional German watch and watchbands manufacturer (founded in 1885) from insolvency.
Since joining the management of InnovationLab GmbH in 2017, he has pushed to make printed and
organic electronics marketable. Within 2,5 years, Nguyen has led InnovationLab from a research platform
to a successful one-stop shop for printed electronics.
As a result of the recent partnership with Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG, the world market leader in
the manufacturing of printing presses, InnovationLab now offers two production sites for printed and
organic electronics, enabling the mass production of inexpensive printed sensors for healthcare,
automotive, smart city, retail, and logistics.
